Birthday Title Card

Birthday is the forty-fourth episode (second part of the twenty-second episode) of Season 1 of The Mr. Men Show.

Plots

  • Mr. Scatterbrain's Plot: Mr. Scatterbrain wraps up a gift while watching how Little Miss Sunshine does it on television. Like he would, he screws up and unknowingly has his gift (a boot) stuck on his back.
  • Mr. Rude's Plot: Mr. Rude goes into a gift shop run by Little Miss Helpful to choose a birthday present for Mr. Grumpy. She suggests a Mr. Happy doll which he accepts.
  • Mr. Grumpy's Plot: Mr. Grumpy is staying at home watching television. Little Miss Chatterbox phones him offering to take him out for food but this gets on his nerves. However, when Mr. Scatterbrain pops up to offer his gifts, he also gets on his nerves.
  • Mr. Messy and Mr. Stubborn's Plot: Mr. Messy and Mr. Stubborn prepare a birthday cake, though Mr. Stubborn, as usual, gets it wrong.
  • Mr. Bump's Plot (deleted in the UK version): Mr. Bump and Little Miss Whoops made a pinata for the birthday party, though when Miss Whoops decides to test it, it does Mr. Bump more harm than good.
  • Everyone's plot: The big moment arrives when Mr. Grumpy arrives home and everyone gives out a big surprise.

Trivia

  • This episode is mostly focused on Mr. Grumpy and his birthday.
  • This is the first of only two episodes where an occasion for someone is celebrated. The other is Surprises.
  • Mr. Grumpy sings his own birthday song; mainly on why he doesn't want birthdays (in the United States version).
    • In the United Kingdom version, it is sung by Mister Nervous mostly and spoken by Mister Grumpy.
    • The part where Mr. Grumpy dodges the falling birthday cakes is the same as how he dodged the elephant legs in Fair.
  • The movie Mr. Grumpy is watching is Gamma Goo From Planet 9 (originally from Movies).
  • This is the only episode where there is a main character. The others are just about the Mr. Men and what they do with things, or how they do something, or what they do in general.
  • At the end of Mister Stubborn and Mister Messy's plot, in the US version, Mister Stubborn shouts "This stove is CHEAP!", but in the Australian version, that line is omitted.
  • Mr. Tickle is not at Mr. Grumpy's birthday party with everyone.
