UK Doctors and Nurses

UK Title Card

Boo-Boos (known as Doctors and Nurses in the UK and Hospitals in Australia) is the second episode of the first season in The Mr. Men Show. The episode shows the Mr. Men and Little Misses at a hospital.

Synopsis[]

Mr. Nervous panics over a not so scary splinter; Mr. Happy's winning bedside manner cannot persuade Mr. Stubborn to undergo a "Carrotectomy", and Little Miss Daredevil gives Mr. Quiet a turbulent tour of the hospital!

Plots[]

  • Mr. Bump and Mr. Strong's Plot (Removed from the UK): Mr. Strong goes to help Mr. Bump after he gets hurt again, so he takes his blood pressure, but he takes too much and his arm floats like a balloon and a vulture pokes it. When Mr. Bump falls back into the hospital, Mr. Strong reveals that the blood pressure is perfect. He gives Mr. Bump a grape lollipop and never even knew what happened.
  • Mr. Happy and Mr Stubborn's Plot: Mr. Happy and Mr. Stubborn argue about whether Mr. Stubborn has carrot in his ear or not.
  • Musical number: Bumpity Bump Bump by Mr. Messy
  • Mr. Happy and Miss Calamity's Plot: Mr. Happy struggles to remove a fish-bowl from Miss Calamity's head.
  • Mr. Quiet and Miss Daredevil's Plot: Miss Daredevil gives Mr. Quiet a high speed ride to the x-ray room on his wheelchair when he's supposed to be going home.
  • Mr. Rude and Mr. Scatterbrain's Plot: Mr. Rude tries to watch Star Wars while Mr. Scatterbrain has trouble looking for the lunch Mr. Rude ordered.
  • Mr. Persnickety and Mr. Nervous' Plot: Mr. Nervous has a splinter in his finger, but is too scared to get it out.
  • Mr. Bump and Miss Whoops Plot: Miss Whoops causes trouble for her brother Mr. Bump's stay at the hospital.

Bumpers[]

Mr. Bounce is doing a reflex test to some of the Mr. Men and Little Misses.

  1. Mr. Bounce tests Little Miss Whoops' reflexes fast and after two hits, gets kicked and bounced out of the room (Deleted in the UK).
  2. Mr. Bounce tests Mr. Messy's reflexes slowly and after three hits, he gets kicked and bounced out of the room (again).

Trivia[]

  • This is the only episode where Mr. Messy has his American voice in the UK and Australian versions.
  • Little Miss Whoops' and Mr. Happy's videos are in this episode.
  • This Mr. Men Show episode has the most segments with 7 stories, and 1 song.
    • It also has the fewest bumpers, with two.
  • In each plot, 2 characters share the main spotlight.
    • Mr. Happy, Mr. Bump, and Mr. Scatterbrain appear in two plots.
  • This is one of the few instances where Mr. Happy gets angry.
  • Concept art shows that Little Miss Helpful was originally going to help Mr. Bump, but her role was replaced by Little Miss Whoops for unknown reasons. In the same episode, a rough animation board shows that Mr. Happy would have facepalmed before telling Mr. Stubborn that the former went to medical school.
  • This is the first episode for several things:
This concept art has Little Miss Helpful instead of Little Miss Whoops.

Running gags[]

  • Horror music is heard when someone says the word "ectomy". (Mr. Happy twice, Miss Calamity, and Mr. Stubborn.)

Goofs[]

  • The official YouTube upload of the episode uses the US title and title card.
  • The first half of the episode is cut off in Milkshake airings
  • Irony: Mr. Rude doesn't understand Mr. Scatterbrain when he says "Bon appetite", despite the former himself being French.
  • Peter Rida Michail is not credited in the UK credits for voicing Mr. Messy.
  • Rob Rackstraw is credited in the UK credits for voicing Mr. Messy despite him being voiced by his US voice actor (however Rob still voiced Mr. Tickle, Mr. Noisy, and Mr. Fussy in the UK version of the episode). This is likely because he was supposed to voice Mr. Messy in the UK version of the episode.

Dub edits[]

  • When Mr. Strong enters the room, he just says "How are you feeling, Mr. Bump?" in the UK and "Yo, how are you feeling, Mr. Bump?" in the US version.
  • Mr. Strong just says "Let's examine you" instead of saying "Let's check your vital signs" when he sticks the thermometer in Mr. Bump's mouth.
  • When the vulture lands on Mr. Bump's blood pressure, Mr. Bump says "It's a vulture!", a line that was never present in the US version.
  • Mr. Happy says "Good morning!" instead of "Oh, ho!" while greeting Miss Calamity.
  • During the fish bowl-ectomy montage, Mr. Happy and Little Miss Calamity exclaim while they move around the room.
  • Little Miss Daredevil says "Hang on very tightly!" instead of "Hang onto your patootie!"
  • Mr. Quiet doesn't exclaim in the UK version - he just says "Look out everyone! Look out!"
  • Mr. Quiet says "I tried to tell you!" instead of "Oh, no!"
  • Mr. Rude says "oatmeal" in the US version and "porridge" in the UK version.
  • Mr. Rude does not whisper when he says "you have another thing coming!"
  • Miss Sunshine says "And today on Miss Sunshine's Cook Time, we...", instead of saying nothing at all.
  • Miss Whoops says "roller skating" instead of "roller derby".
