Calling out all you dance floor whizzes

It's time to start the boogie like the groovy Little Misses!

The beat is taking over!

There's no place to escape!

The beat is taking over!

The beat is taking over!

Check it out, Dillydale's getting funky

They're tearing up the beat and it's getting kinda clunky

Watch 'em move, they're grooving in a trance

With stars in their eyes, they sure do love to dance. 🎵

Mr. Messy: C'mon!

Mr. Messy: 🎵The beat is taking over

So just give it a chance

Just wiggle, twist, jiggle, shake

And dance, dance, dance!

Shazam!

Now, bounce and wiggle

Jiggle and shake

I said bounce and wiggle

Now jiggle and shake

The beat is taking over!🎵

Mr. Messy: Oh!

Mr. Messy: 🎵So, just give it a chance🎵

Mr. Messy: That's what I'm talking about!

Mr. Messy: 🎵Just wiggle, twist, jiggle, shake

And dance, dance, dance!🎵

Mr. Messy: Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Mr. Messy: 🎵The beat is taking over!

The beat is taking over!🎵

Mr. Messy: Oh!

Mr. Messy: 🎵Just dance, dance, dance!🎵

Mr. Messy: C'mon, now! Look out, Dillydale!

(Loud tap dancing is heard and the whole room starts shaking. Mr. Grumpy hides under his desk in fear. A split screen shows Mr. Noisy teaching a tap dancing class to Mr. Stubborn and Little Miss Whoops above Mr. Grumpy's office)

Mr. Grumpy: (gasps)

(Mr. Grumpy picks himself up and realizes what's happening)

Mr. Grumpy: Oh, the nerve!

(Mr. Grumpy calls Mr. Noisy using the phone on his desk. The split screen disappears and shows the dance studio upstairs. The telephone in the dance studio rings, everyone stops dancing, and Mr. Noisy answers the phone)

Mr. Noisy: "Mr. Noisy's Dance Studio!" Where I'll teach you to boogie!

Mr. Grumpy (on the phone): And annoy your neighbors at the same time!

(The scene cuts downstairs to Mr. Grumpy's office)

Mr. Grumpy: This is Mr. Grumpy downstairs! I'm writing a book about my life and I can't concentrate with all that tap dancing going on up there!

(Mr. Grumpy hangs up in anger)

Mr. Grumpy: (grunts)

(Mr. Noisy hangs up the phone and the split screen separating Mr. Noisy's Dance Studio and Mr. Grumpy's office returns)

Mr. Grumpy: Now...where was I?

(Mr. Noisy gets an idea and Mr. Grumpy remembers where he was in his book)

Mr. Grumpy: Oh, yes!

(Mr. Noisy, Mr. Stubborn, and Little Miss Whoops leave for a moment while Mr. Grumpy resumes writing)

Mr. Grumpy: "I was born-"

(Mr. Grumpy is interrupted again by the sound of dancing. This time, Mr. Noisy, Mr. Stubborn, and Little Miss Whoops are wearing shoes for clog dancing. Mr. Grumpy angrily picks up the phone again and calls Mr. Noisy. The split screen disappears and shows the dance studio upstairs again. The telephone in the dance studio rings, everyone stops dancing, and Mr. Noisy answers the phone again)

Mr. Noisy: "Mr. Noisy's Dance Studio!" Where I'll teach you to boogie!

Mr. Grumpy (on the phone): Is it raining coconuts up there?

(Mr. Noisy looks over his shoulder. The scene cuts to Mr. Stubborn and Little Miss Whoops clog dancing for a moment before cutting back to Mr. Noisy)

Mr. Noisy: No coconuts here!

(The scene cuts downstairs to Mr. Grumpy's office)

Mr. Noisy (on the phone): We're clog dancing! Come up and give it a try!

Mr. Grumpy: I'd sooner eat pencil shavings! For the last time, I have a...

(Mr. Grumpy presses a button on the typewriter four times)

Mr. Grumpy: Very important book to write! So please, no more dancing!

(The scene cuts upstairs to Mr. Noisy's Dance Studio)

Mr. Noisy: But this is a dance studio!

Mr. Grumpy (on the phone): Then find a dance that doesn't require shoes!

(Mr. Grumpy hangs up the phone. The scene cuts downstairs to Mr. Grumpy's office)

Mr. Grumpy: Let's see.

(Mr. Grumpy resumes writing)

Mr. Grumpy: "I was born. And the world was better for it!"

(The sounds of thunder and drums pounding are heard)

Mr. Grumpy: "My intelligence, good looks, and sparkling personality, are the envy of Dillydale."

(Water starts dripping from the ceiling and onto Mr. Grumpy's desk)

Mr. Grumpy: Crooked cucumbers!!

(Mr. Grumpy picks up the phone and calls Mr. Noisy. The scene cuts upstairs to Mr. Noisy's Dance Studio. Where it's, somehow, raining)

Mr. Noisy: "Mr. Noisy's Dance Studio!"

(The scene cuts downstairs to Mr. Grumpy's office)

Mr. Noisy (over the phone): Where-

Mr. Grumpy: There is water...dripping from my ceiling!

(The scene cuts back to Mr. Noisy's Dance Studio)

Mr. Noisy: I know!

(The camera zooms out to show Mr. Stubborn and Little Miss Whoops performing a rain dance)

Mr. Grumpy: We're doing a rain dance! Isn't it fantastic?

(The scene cuts downstairs to Mr. Grumpy's now flooded office)

Mr. Grumpy: No, it is not!

(Mr. Grumpy hangs up the phone)

Mr. Grumpy: Oh, how could this day get any worse?

(Little Miss Chatterbox pops up from underwater next to Mr. Grumpy)

Miss Chatterbox: Hello again! I thought I'd drop in to see how your book was coming. Oh! And look!

(Little Miss Chatterbox shows Mr. Grumpy the story of her life)

Miss Chatterbox: I finished the story of my life! Of course, I have a you to thank for giving me the great idea!

Mr. Grumpy: Humph!

(Mr. Grumpy facepalms himself and sinks underwater. Much to Little Miss Chatterbox's confusion)

Mr. Grumpy (underwater): Crooked cucumbers!

(Mr. Nervous runs across the screen. Followed by Mr. Happy, Little Miss Helpful, Little Miss Whoops, Mr. Nosey, and Mr. Small)

Mr. Happy, Little Miss Helpful, Little Miss Whoops, Mr. Nosey, and Mr. Small: (laughs)

(The scene transitions and The Beat is Taking Over plays)

Mr. Messy: 🎵Uh-oh!

Here it comes again!

The beat is taking over and it's got the Mr. Men!

Calling out all you dance floor whizzes

It's time to start the boogie like the groovy Little Misses!

The beat is taking over!

There's no place to escape!

The beat is taking over!

The beat is taking over!

Be-be-beat is taking over, it's taking over.

Check it out, Dillydale's getting spunky

They're tearing up the beat and it's getting kinda funky

Watch 'em move, they're grooving in a trance

With stars in their eyes, they sure do love to dance.🎵

Mr. Messy: C'mon!

Mr. Messy: 🎵The beat is taking over

So just give it a chance

Just wiggle, twist, jiggle, shake

And dance, dance, dance!

Shazam!

Now, bounce and wiggle

Jiggle and shake

I said bounce and wiggle

Now jiggle and shake

The beat is taking over!🎵

Mr. Messy: Oh!

Mr. Messy: 🎵So, just give it a chance🎵

Mr. Messy: That's what I'm talking about!

Mr. Messy: 🎵Just wiggle, twist, jiggle, shake

And dance, dance, dance!🎵

Mr. Messy: Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Mr. Messy: 🎵The beat is taking over!

The beat is taking over!🎵

Mr. Messy: Oh!

Mr. Messy: 🎵Just dance, dance, dance!🎵

Mr. Messy: C'mon, now!

(The Beat is Taking Over ends. Red, white, and blue stripes cover the screen, then Little Miss Daredevil appears and gives a salute. She then zooms upward, taking the stripes with her to transition to the next scene. The next bumper shows Little Miss Whoops doing a solo square dance. Mr. Bounce bounces over and joins Little Miss Whoops in her dance as her partner. The two have a great time until Little Miss Whoops accidentally kicks Mr. Bounce away. Lions: (growling)

Mr. Nervous: Geh! Oh! Please don't hurt me! I'm-I'm new to the neighborhood!

Lion: (growls)

(The lion licks their lips)

Mr. Nervous: Gah! I'm very respectful of nature!

(Mr. Nervous kisses a vine and a heart pops up between Mr. Nervous and the vine when he stops kissing it)

Lion: (roars)

(The lions move closer to the tree)

Lions: (growls)

(Mr. Nervous trembles in fear. Suddenly, loud stomping is heard. Mr. Nervous and the lions hear the noise)

Lions: (roars)

(The lions run away)

Mr. Nervous: Phew! Something must have frightened them!

(Mr. Nervous' moment of relief ends as he realizes that whatever is coming must be more dangerous than the lions. Soon, a giant gorilla pushes the trees out of the way. Mr. Nervous trembles with fear. The gorilla pounds on their chest)

Gorilla: (roars)

Mr. Nervous: Geh! Oh! I'm doomed!

(Two more gorillas appear behind the first gorilla and all three gorillas start walking over towards Mr. Nervous)

Mr. Nervous: D-wah! Ah! Oh! No! No! No! No!

Miss Scary (offscreen): Come on, Mr. Nervous!

(The daydream sequence ends and it is revealed that Mr. Nervous is simply attending a roller skating disco with Little Miss Scary, Little Miss Chatterbox, Mr. Small, and Little Miss Naughty. And the tree Mr. Nervous had climbed is really a pole he was clinging to)

Miss Scary: Move it or lose it!

(Mr. Nervous lets go of the pole)

Mr. Nervous: Oh no! No! No! No! N-n-no! N-n-no!

(Mr. Nervous roller skates away)

Miss Scary: Next time, we're inviting Mr. Tickle!

(A transition of Mr. Bump holds on a black bar while screaming while the scene changes plays)

Mr. Bump: (screams)

(The next bumper shows Mr. Grumpy dancing. Mr. Bounce bounces next to him and starts copying Mr. Grumpy's dance.
