Overview[]
How Deep Does the Earhole Go? (Jusqu'où va le trou de l'oreille ? in French) is a short story about keeping clean, healthy and well in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in May 1999, and then re-released in 2000.
Summary[]
After returning from Inversonia, Miss Bossy answers the titular question, saying "Stop! Don't stick a stick in your ear to find out how deep the hole is! Stop! You'll damage your ear! At the bottom of the hole, there's a very thin tube, at the end of which is your eardrum. It's a kind of drumhead, which resonates with noise. After it, there are three small bones, the ossicles. And then the cochlea, which looks like a snail. It receives messages from the ossicles and passes them to the auditory nerve, which passes them to your brain. That's how you hear! And now that you know everything, no nonsense! No, but!" while sympathizing with the reader.
