Little Miss Careful/Madame Prudente lives in a country where it is always sunny. Despite this, she always wears her rain gear in case it happens to suddenly rain.
She isn't as careful with other things though: as she enjoys sliding down the banister of her stairs every morning, she sticks her finger in a pot of boiling water to see if it is hot, and she carries her breakfast dishes carelessly and they all smash on the floor.
One day, she is invited to give a speech in her town's square on safety. On the way, she jumps out of a window in her house, and falls over, bumping her head. She sets off, running down the street and not watching where she is going. She runs into a painter's ladder and gets covered in white paint as a result.
She finally gets to the square for her speech, and she decides to leap up onto the stage instead of using the stairs. Typical of her clumsy, careless behaviour, she slips over and hits her head on the stage.
From that moment on, she decides to try and be a little bit more careful. She still slides down her banister, but while holding her umbrella open for a little bit more safety!

- Little Miss Careful appeared in Little Miss Curious' book before her own book. Since Little Miss Curious originated from France, this explains why Little Miss Careful was featured in the book though she does not have an English book of her own.
- Out of all the French-exclusive characters, Little Miss Careful has appeared in the most media.
- Little Miss Careful was never published in English.
- In both the English Style Guide for the Mr. Men brand and an issue of โThe Mr. Men Clubโ, she is named Little Miss Blunder. It is possible that this was her intended name as it appears in more promotional material compared to the single instance that it appears in Little Miss Curious' own book, in which the commonly accepted official English name of Little Miss Careful's may be a mistranslation.[1]
