Narrator: One Friday evening, the telephone rang at Early Bird Cottage. Little Miss Late picked it up.
(The scene fades to Little Miss Late talking on the phone)
Miss Late: Hi! Miss Late speaking!
(The scene transitions to Mr. Silly, who was the person who called Little Miss Late, on the phone, holding two tickets in his left hand)
Mr. Silly: Um, ah! (laughs) Hello! Mr. Silly here. (chuckles) I've-I've been given some, um, tickets. Tickets, um, bom-bom-bom-bom, for a disco tomorrow night! Hmm! Uh, now, would you, uh, would you like to come? (chuckles)
(The camera cuts back to Little Miss Late on the phone)
Miss Late: Oh! Yeah, great! What a wonderful idea.
(The camera cuts back to Mr. Silly)
Mr. Silly: Oh, righty-ho! Well, (chuckles) I-I'll meet you at, um, 7 'o clock, outside the disco. Hm.
(The camera cuts back to Little Miss Late on the phone)
Miss Late: See you tomorrow! Bye!
(The camera cuts and zooms out from Early Bird Cottage)
Narrator: And she put the phone down.
(The scene fades to the following evening, at 7 o'clock, outside Noisy's Disco)
Narrator: Saturday arrived and Mr. Silly waited outside the disco.
(Mr. Silly is seen pacing back and forth, anxiously waiting for Little Miss Late to arrive)
Narrator: He waited, and waited, and waited some more.
(Mr. Silly gives up, turns around and walks home)
Narrator: Poor Mr. Silly went home.
(The screen fades to black and fades to the following day. Mr. Silly, furious, is seen standing outside Early Bird Cottage)
Narrator: Next day, Mr. Silly went to see Miss Late.
(The camera zooms out from Early Bird Cottage)
Narrator: After a while...
(The scene cuts to Little Miss Late opening her front door, surprised to find Mr. Silly on her doorstep)
Narrator: She opened the door.
(The camera zooms out slightly to show Mr. Silly and Little Miss Late in the same frame)
Miss Late: Hi, Mr. Silly.
(The camera stops zooming out)
Miss Late: I thought we were going to meet outside the disco?
(Mr. Silly's jaw drops in disbelief)
Mr. Silly: Oh!
(The screen fades to black and fades to the camera, once again, zooming out from Early Bird Cottage as the narrator gives the viewers a little bio on Little Miss Late)
Narrator: Late for this, late for that, Little Miss Late was late for everything! For instance, last year, do you know when she celebrated Christmas Day?
(The scene fades to winter with snow)
Narrator: January the 25th! One month late!
(The scene cuts to inside Early Bird Cottage where Little Miss Late is shown sitting on a stool, wearing a crown she got from a Christmas cracker she is holding, right next to some unopened presents)
Miss Late: Hi! Happy Christmas!
(Little Miss Late looks at her calendar and realizes her mistake)
Miss Late: Oh!
(The camera zooms in on Little Miss Late)
Miss Late: Sorry!
(The screen fades to black)

Narrator: Do you know when she did her spring cleaning in Early Bird Cottage?

(The snow plops on top of Little Miss Late)
Miss Late: (chuckles nervously) Sorry!
(The scene transitions to a close-up of Twopin Cottage)
Narrator: Just along the road,
(The camera starts zooming out)
Narrator: Almost next door was Twopin Cottage. Where a friend of hers lived,
(The camera stops zooming out and cuts to the top floor window, where Little Miss Neat slides into the frame to look out the window)
Narrator: Little Miss Neat.
(The scene transitions to Little Miss Neat going out for a walk and walking towards the left of the screen)

Miss Neat: Hello. What are you doing?
(The camera cuts back over to Little Miss Late)
Miss Late: I thought I'd cut the grass.

Narrator: Miss Neat looked over the hedge.
Miss Neat: I think that you should've thought about that months ago.
(Little Miss Neat gets an idea)
Miss Neat: I tell you what. Let's go shopping together tomorrow.
(The camera cuts back over to Little Miss Late)
Miss Late: Oh! Great idea!
(The camera cuts back over to Little Miss Neat)
Miss Neat: I'll meet in town on the corner of Main Street, tomorrow afternoon. 2 o'clock.
(The camera cuts back over to Little Miss Late)
Miss Late: Great! I'll be there.
(Little Miss Late disappears behind the tall grass and the screen fades to black. The scene transitions to the following afternoon on Main Street. The clock strikes 2 as Little Miss Neat arrives)
Narrator: The following afternoon,
(The camera zooms out to reveal an impatient Little Miss Neat standing on the corner of Main Street, waiting for Little Miss Late to show up to their shopping)
Narrator: Little Miss Neat stood on the corner of Main Street.
(The camera stops zooming out)
Narrator: It was 2 o'Clock and she was waiting for Miss Late.
(The scene fades to a close-up view of Little Miss Neat)
Narrator: And she waited,
(The camera zooms in on Little Miss Neat as she looks at the viewers)
Narrator: And waited,
(Little Miss Neat looks around before the camera zooms back out again)
Narrator: And waited some more.
(Little Miss Neat sees someone offscreen and becomes surprised)
Narrator: Mr. Topsy-Turvy walked passed.
(Mr. Topsy-Turvy walks into the frame backwards. He walks backwards to the left)
Narrator: Backwards, of course.
(Mr. Topsy-Turvy passes Little Miss Neat)
Mr. Topsy-Turvy: Afternoon good.
(Little Miss Neat smiles as Mr. Topsy-Turvy leaves)
Narrator: Finally, Miss Late arrived.
(The scene cuts to an exhausted Little Miss Late running up to Little Miss Neat, not realizing she was four hours behind schedule!)
Miss Late: Hi! A bit late, I'm afraid. (giggles sheepishly)
(The camera zooms out to show a frustrated Little Miss Neat talking to Little Miss Late)
Miss Neat: A bit late!? It's six o'clock and all the shops have shut!
(Little Miss Late realizes her mistake)
Miss Late: Sorry.
(The camera zooms in on Little Miss Late)
Narrator: And that's what happened all the time.
(The scene transitions to the town's main street)

Narrator: She noticed Miss Late in the garden.
(The camera stops zooming out. Little Miss Late pushes some of the grass blades out of the way so she can see Little Miss Neat looking over the fence offscreen)
Narrator: Up to her ears in uncut grass. She called over the fence to her.

Miss Neat: Hello. What are you doing?
(The camera cuts back over to Little Miss Late)
