Little Miss Shy's Telephone (Le téléphone de madame Timide in French) is a story in I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss, being the first story in the first issue. It was released in 1997 and later re-released 2000 by Hachette exclusively in France.
Story[]
One morning, Little Miss Shy is having her breakfast. Her telephone starts to ring so she hides under her bed and covers her ears. After coming out of her hiding place Little Miss Shy picks up the receiver trembling from head to toe before hanging it up and running to the bathroom and immediately diving into the bathtub.
When Little Miss Shy gets out of the water, her phone rings again and she answers it, and she hears a voice say "Hello, hello!" Little Miss Shy wanted to answer the phone, but she was shaking so much that her teeth were clacking, so no words could come out of her mouth. It later indicates that Mr. Strong was calling her and says that she would have a funny surprise in five minutes.
Five minutes later, the door opened, and Mr. Strong, Little Miss Dotty, Mr. Funny, and all their friends entered Little Miss Shy's house. To her astonishment, the surprise turned out to be a birthday party in her honour. That day, Little Miss Shy smiled, laughed, and even spoke at least three times—all without blushing.
