Mr. Busy's Not So Busy Day is a story from the 1993 Annual
Plot[]
Mr. Busy is a very active Mr. Man. Eating his breakfast in two minutes, finishing his chores in ten minutes, and write a list of things he had to get done that day. The first thing on his long list of things to do was to phone Mr. Quiet. Disappointingly, the only telephone box available was being occupied by Mr. Chatterbox and Mr. Busy did not have the patience to wait for him to finish up his call that had been going on for hours already. List item number two was to buy a new hat but Little Miss Fickle was at the shop and could not decide which hat to buy. The impatient Mr. Busy left without buying a new hat and went to have lunch. Sadly, Mr. Busy didn't have lunch either as Mr. Greedy was devouring food left and right and the waiter didn't have a moment to serve Mr. Busy.
The fourth item on the list was to buy fruits and vegetables at the market. Surely, Mr. Busy could get that done. Not with Mr. Forgetful at the stand trying to remember what to buy. Mr. Busy tried to wait but had to run and catch his bus. At least that was on time. Lamentably, Mr. Busy wasn't even able to do that! Mr. Slow was also waiting for the bus with Mr. Busy and was slow at boarding the bus, asking for his ticket, and even pulling out his wallet. 30 minutes to do all that! By then, Mr. Busy realized things would be much quicker walking to the tea shop.
The last thing Mr. Busy planned to do that day was to have tea with Little Miss Late. Naturally, Little Miss Late was late as usual. In fact, she never even showed up by the time Mr. Busy decided to have tea by himself. Albeit unsuccessfully as the tea shop had closed by the time Mr. Busy wanted to go in. Poor Mr. Busy went home with none of his chores done and was now hungry, thirsty, and tired. A busy day for doing nothing. What a waste of energy.
