For his appearance in The Mr. Men Show, Mr. Fussy is renamed to Mr. Persnickety in the US version, and Mr. Pernickety in the UK version, in Season 1. He retains his yellow nose and neatly combed hair (although it is lighter green, much like the rest of his body). In addition, he now has a black bow tie, reading glasses, brown shoes, and a more neatly waxed handlebar mustache. He lives in a duplex-style house next to Mr. Messy, whom he frequently argues with. Mr. Fussy, like his book counterpart, is obsessed with things being neat and tidy. Despite his attempts for cleanliness and order, he is often put in situations that cause him or his things to get dirty, much to his dismay.
In Season 2, he is recoloured darker green (more in line with his book appearance), and has been renamed to Mr. Fussy again. In addition, his hair is now the same colour as the rest of his body.
Like most of the characters in The Mr. Men Show, Mr. Fussy's first appearance was in "Physical".
Mr. Fussy is voiced by Joey D'Auria in the US and speaks in an English accent, and by Rob Rackstraw in the UK, and speaks in a German accent.
Trivia[]
- In his prototype/beta design, Mr. Fussy wore a brown tweed vest. He is seen wearing it in the pinball game and the show's colouring book.
- In "Home Improvement" when he and Mr. Messy were attacking each other with Little Miss Magic's paint wand, he briefly changes into his light green colour scheme from the first season.
- Additionally, he is shown in that colour scheme in a group shot in "Cinema" as an error, but is quickly fixed afterward.
- In an animatic for the episode "Beach" that was uploaded to YouTube, Mr. Fussy would've worn a 1920s swimsuit
- While one of his catchphrases is "Sweet Henrietta," it is changed to "Sweet apple strudel" in the UK version where he has a German accent.
- In "Beach", Mr. Fussy's feet are regular like the other Mr. Men and Little Misses, but in "Shoes", they are pointed. In "Sand and Surf", they are back to their regular form.
- In the former episode, it's revealed that Mr. Fussy has a collection of bow ties in his home.
- His mouth can be shown when his moustache lifts up. (Amusement Park, Fair, Birds, Inventions, Trains, Beach). Storyboards for Season 1 (and possibly as a scrapped concept) tend to show his mouth as a gag.
- His frightened eyes are seen in 3 episodes in season 1 (Amusement Park, Fair, Beach).
- He is a talented piano player, as shown in "Sleep" and "Telephone". Mr. Rude rudely interrupted his concerts, though.
- He is one of the three characters to wear glasses, the others being Mr. Nervous and Little Miss Whoops.
- He is also one of three characters who has a tie, the others are Mr. Nosey and Mr. Funny.
- According to director Mark Risley, Mr. Fussy's voice was modeled after actor Gale Gordon.
- The reason for his initial name change before being reverted was, according to Eryk Casemiro, "it sounded more alliterative".
- According to Mark Risley, the reason Mr. Per(s)nickety was changed back into Mr. Fussy was because Chorion didn't like how he was, which is the same reason why Little Miss Calamity got removed in Season 2.
- Despite disliking all things filthy, Mr. Fussy does enjoy the occasional mud bath as he discovered for himself in "Bath and Bubbles".
- The episode "Robots" implies Mr. Fussy enjoys waffles, seeing as how he drops what he was doing after hearing Little Miss Scary state she would use her robot to make waffles.
- He was a favourite among parents who look to him as a character they could sympathise with.
- The voice Rob Rackstraw gave him was the same German accent he would provide for Hugo in Thomas and Friends.
