Mr. Fussy and the Falling Leaves is a story from the 1982 Annual.
Plot[]
Mr. Fussy is a very fussy man! He can't stand mess and wants everything to be clean. He dusts the flowers in his garden and even cleans the dirty footmarks he makes on his pathway. After cleaning up his garden path, Mr. Fussy went inside for a cup of tea. It was a very windy day and, while inside, leaves began falling off Mr. Fussy's apple tree onto Mr. Fussy's neat and tidy lawn. Mr. Fussy took action immediately; he picked up all the fallen leaves and put them into a neat pile.
But just as Mr. Fussy put the last little leaf onto the pile, another gust of wind blew more leaves off the tree and onto Mr. Fussy's neat and tidy lawn. To make matters more challenging, the wind blew some of the apples from the apple tree all over the lawn as well. Mr. Fussy was upset over his lovely grass being bent after hours straightening them. Around that time, Mr. Greedy came along and saw Mr. Fussy in despair over the current situation. Mr. Fussy filled Mr. Greedy in on the situation with the falling leaves and apples and, with the wind continuing to blow, it will take Mr. Fussy days to tidy his lawn again.
Mr. Greedy came up with a brilliant idea regarding the apples; Mr. Greedy cleared the apples by eating all of them in a few short minutes. After Mr. Greedy finished, Mr. Fussy fetched his fishing net and spend the rest of the day catching the falling leaves in his net. Fussy, but it does save time on raking.
