Mr. Greedy’s Picnic is a story from the 1981 Annual.
Plot[]
Mr. Greedy woke up one fine morning. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. The perfect day for a picnic-lunch. Mr. Greedy decided to do just that. Following his breakfast of three fried eggs, four rashers of bacon, two large sausages, and a packet of cornflakes, Mr. Greedy grabbed the biggest picnic basket he had and packed all the food for the picnic. One roast chicken, five large bananas, four sausage roles, ten ham sandwiches, and six cream buns. Mr. Greedy managed to fil the basket to the brim, but all that food resulted in the basket weighing as much as a sack of bricks!
Mr. Greedy knew he couldn't carry the basket and he didn't want to eat the food before the picnic started. Mr. Greedy decided to invite Mr. Strong to the picnic as he can carry the heavy basket with one finger! Mr. Strong agreed to join Mr. Greedy for the picnic and even brought extra food for them to enjoy: hard boiled eggs and egg sandwiches! What a wonderful picnic! I'm sure the two had a fantastic time.
