Synopsis[]
Here is a recipe for chocolate squares to serve when you have friends for tea. You must have a grown-up with you when you make this recipe.

What You Will Need[]
- 100g (4oz) plain chocolate
- 50g (2oz) butter or margarine
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 150g (6oz) plain sweet biscuits (such as digestive or rich tea)
What To Do[]
- Crush the biscuits into crumbs in a mixing bowl, using the end of a rolling pin.
- Put the chocolate, broken into pieces, the butter and syrup in a small pan. Heat gently until melted, stirring with a wooden spoon.
- Add the melted mixture to the crushed biscuits and mix well.
- Line a shallow 15cm (6 inch) square tin with foil. Press the biscuit mixture into the tin, smoothing the top with the back of a melted spoon.
- Mark into 16 squares, put into the refrigerator and leave for about 1 hour until firm.
- Cut into 16 squares, and serve.
