Mr. Mean's Magic Money is an arts and crafts page from the 1980 Annual.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Mean loves money and has two coin tricks that will leave your friends asking "how did they do that?!"
Trick #1[]
Instructions[]
What To Do[]
Ask a friend to place their hands together so that their open fingers and palms are touching. Now ask them to bend both middle fingers inwards, keeping both hands pushed firmly together. In this position, push a coin between the tips of their third fingers.
Now tell you friend that if they drop the coin whist holding their hands at that position, they can keep it! They will be amazed to find that however hard they try, they will not be able to do it!
Trick #2[]
Instructions[]
What You'll Need[]
- Paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- 1p coin
- 10p coin
What To Do[]
Place the 1p coin in the middle of the paper and trace round the outside. Fold paper (with the outline outside) so that the crease halves the circle. Now cut round the outline and open paper out flat. You should have a perfect circle in the center of the paper, through which a 1p coin will pass easily.
Here's the trick. Ask a friend to take the 10p coin and pass through he same hole without tearing it. Impossible? Not if you know how to do it. Simply fold the paper as before and put the 10p coin in the fold across the hold. Holding the paper, push gently upwards and inwards. The coin will fall through easily!
