Narrator: Mr. Mean hasn't a Penny Left
(The title card disappears)
(The episode begins at night time. The camera pans over to Mr. Mean's house and the scene cuts inside Mr. Mean's house)
Narrator: Contrary to popular opinion, Mr. Mean is actually a very rich man. Very rich indeed. The problem is he simply hates spending his money.
(Mr. Mean opens a cabinet under his sink and takes out a box filled with his money)
Narrator: Every evening just before bedtime, Mr. Mean enjoys his only moment of pleasure.
(Mr. Mean open the box and starts counting his money)
Mr. Mean: 204, 205, 206...(giggles)
(The scene cuts to Mr. Mean waking up the next morning)
Narrator: But one morning...
Mr. Mean: I have no friends.
(Mr. Mean gets an idea)
Mr. Mean: But I have an idea. I'll invite one or two people over for lunch.
(Mr. Mean heads into town to buy food.)
Mr. Mean: (crying) I hate having to spend my precious money on food.
(The scene cuts to Mr. Nosey out for a walk)
Narrator: Meanwhile Mr. Nosey is also out for a stroll.
Mr. Nosey: Oh.
(Mr. Nosey notices Mr. Mean's house. He runs over to investigate)
Mr. Nosey: Why Mr. Mean isn't home? How very strange. I better go and see what's going on.
(Mr. Nosey enters Mr. Mean's house and finds the box full of money under the sink. He takes it out to investigate)
Mr. Nosey: Oh.
(Mr. Nosey opens the box to find Mr. Mean's money)
Mr. Nosey: Oh. It's only money.
(Little Miss Magic flies over Mr. Mean's house on her magic carpet and sees Mr. Nosey inside)
Narrator: Little Miss Magic has spotted Mr. Nosey
Miss Magic: Ah. It's Mr. Nosey. Ha-ha! I think he needs to be taught a lesson!
(Little Miss Magic uses her magic to make Mr. Mean's money disappear in front of Mr. Nosey's eyes)
Mr. Nosey: Huh!?
(Mr. Nosey runs out of Mr. Mean's house)
Miss Magic: Morning Mr. Nosey.
Mr. Nosey: Ah, Miss Magic. Uh...but what did you do with his money?
Miss Magic: Oh, I just...magicked it out of harm's way!
(The scene transitions to outside of Mr. Mean's house at lunchtime. Most of the guests are sitting on rocks while Little Miss Magic is sitting on her carpet and Mr. Nosey is looking out of his window)
Narrator: It's lunchtime and Mr. Mean's guests have arrived. Mr. Skinny, Mr. Strong, Mr. Perfect, Mr. Slow, Little Miss Magic, and...oh! There he is! Mr. Nosey.
(Mr. Mean comes outside with lunch)
Mr. Mean: There we are. It's ready. I hope you all like spaghetti.
(Mr. Mean gives Mr. Skinny a single noodle)
Mr. Mean: Is that enough Mr. Skinny?
Mr. Skinny: Eh...that's fine. Uh, I'm not sure I'll manage to finish it.
(Mr. Mean gives Mr. Perfect a single noodle)
Mr. Mean: How's that Mr. Perfect?
Mr. Perfect: Just perfect. I had lunch just before coming you know.
Mr. Mean: I wonder why Mr. Lazy isn't here yet?
Mr. Slow: Yes it is strange. He told me he was afraid of falling asleep on the way so I lent him my steamroller.
(Mr. Lazy is shown to have fallen asleep at the wheel. He drives the steamroller through Mr. Mean's gate)
Mr. Mean, Mr. Nosey, Mr. Slow, Mr. Strong, Mr. Perfect, Mr. Skinny, and Little Miss Magic: (screams)
(Everyone jumps out of the way just in time. Mr. Lazy wakes up when the steamroller crashes through Mr. Mean's house. Much to Mr. Mean's horror)
Mr. Mean: My house! Oh! My lovely house! Oh no! It's gonna cost me an absolute fortune to rebuild it!
(Mr. Mean falls onto his back before waking up with an even more worrisome thought)
Mr. Mean: My money! Where it is my money? Oh! (Mr. Mean digs through the rubble blocking the sink and opens the cabinet door only to find nothing there)
Mr. Mean: Ahhh!! My money's been stolen!
(Mr. Mean runs over to everybody)
Miss Magic: Oh.
Mr. Mean: Help me stop thief! (sighs)
(Mr. Mean faints)
Mr. Perfect: Poor Mr. Mean seems to have fainted. We really must do something.
(Mr. Perfect begins whispering his plan to the others. The scene transitions to everyone rebuilding Mr. Mean's house)
Narrator: So they all set about rebuilding Mr. Mean's house.
(Mr. Strong is whistling as he brings over a wheelbarrow full of bricks)
Narrator: Mr. Strong.
(Mr. Skinny is hammering some nails)
Narrator: Mr. Skinny.
(Mr. Slow is laying mortar onto the bricks)
Narrator: Not forgetting Mr. Slow.
(Mr. Nosey is passing bricks but is also distracted)
Narrator: And Mr. Nosey.
(Mr. Nosey drops a brick on his foot by accident)
Mr. Nosey: Ow!
(Little Miss Magic flies around on her flying carpet and uses her magic to fix up Mr. Mean's garden)
Narrator: As for Little Miss Magic she took care of the garden.
(Everyone finishes rebuilding Mr. Mean's house just as Mr. Mean wakes up.)
Mr. Mean: Oh, Mr. Perfect. Where am I?
Mr. Perfect: It's your new house Mr. Mean.
(Mr. Mean and the audience see the newly built house for the first time)
Miss Magic: So Mr. Mean, don't you like it?
Mr. Mean: Yes. But...it must've cost a fortune and...
(Mr. Mean begins to cry)
Mr. Mean: I haven't a penny left.
Mr. Perfect: But it's a present from all of us.
(Mr. Mean cheers up thanks to this revelation)
Mr. Mean: Oh thank you my friends. Thanks to you, I've understood what a marvelous thing it is to have friends.
(Little Miss Magic winks to the audience. Mr. Nosey runs out of Mr. Mean's house with a box)
Mr. Nosey: Mr. Mean! Mr. Mean!
(Mr. Nosey rejoins the group. Now no longer including Little Miss Magic)
Mr. Nosey: Look what I found in your cellar!
Mr. Strong: Goodness me Mr. Nosey! You never give up do you?
Mr. Nosey: But...but...but...but...
(Mr. Mean opens the box to find his money inside)
Mr. Strong: Well for once Mr. Nosey's nosiness isn't such a bad thing after all.
Mr. Mean: Thank you so much Mr. Nosey. Thanks to you my friends, I have a brand new house and my money back! To show you how grateful I am, I shall give each of you...a coin.
(Little Miss Magic flies off on her magic carpet. Back at Mr. Mean's house, he pays his friends each a coin for a job well done)
Mr. Mean: One for Mr. Skinny. One for Mr. Strong. One for Mr. Perfect. Pretty cheap for a new house wouldn't you say? (laughs)
Everyone: (laughs)
Narrator: There's no doubt about it. Mr. Mean will never change!
(Fade to black)

Mr. Nosey: Well, Mr. Mean isn't home. That's very strange. Maybe I should go inside and see what's going on.
(Mr. Nosey enters Mr. Mean's house and finds the box full of money under the sink. He takes it out to investigate)
Mr. Nosey: Oh.
(Mr. Mean opens the box to find Mr. Mean's money)
Mr. Nosey: Oh. It's only money.
(Little Miss Magic flies over Mr. Mean's house on her magic carpet and sees Mr. Nosey inside)

Narrator: It's lunchtime and Mr. Mean's guests are all here. Mr. Skinny, Mr. Strong, Mr. Perfect, Mr. Slow, Little Miss Magic, and of course Mr. Nosey.

(Mr. Mean begins to cry)
Mr. Mean: I don't have a penny left.
Mr. Perfect: But it's a perfect present from all of us.

(Little Miss Magic winks to the audience. Mr. Nosey runs out of Mr. Mean's house with a box)
Mr. Nosey: Mr. Mean! Mr. Mean!
(Mr. Nosey rejoins the group. Now no longer including Little Miss Magic)
Mr. Nosey: Look what I found in your basement! You won't believe it! Look!
Mr. Strong: Oh for god Mr. Nosey! You never give up do you?
Mr. Nosey: But...but...but...but...
(Mr. Mean opens the box to find his money inside)
Everyone: Ooh!
Mr. Strong: Well for once, Mr. Nosey's nosiness paid off.
Mr. Mean: Thank you so much Mr. Nosey. Thanks you my friends. I have a brand new house and all my money is back! To show you how grateful I am, I give each of you a coin.
(Little Miss Magic flies off on her magic carpet. Back at Mr. Mean's house, he pays his friends each a coin for a job well done)
Mr. Mean: One for Mr. Skinny. Mr. Strong. One for Mr. Perfect. Pretty cheap for a new house wouldn't you say? (laughs)
Everyone: (laughs)
Narrator: Mr. Mean is very rich! Besides having lots of money, he also has wonderful friends!
(Fade to black)
