(The episode begins with the camera panning across the screen showing a fingerprint covered town. The camera pans to the left)

Birds (offscreen): (chirping)

Narrator: Mr. Messy was the messiest person you've ever met in your whole life. He looked messy because he was messy, in everything he did. You can always tell where Mr. Messy had been because he left a trail of messy fingerprints,

(The camera cuts and zooms out from a fingerprint covered fence)

Birds (offscreen): (chirping)

Narrator: Wherever he'd. Oh yes. Mr. Messy was messy by name and messy by nature.

(The scene transitions to an unkempt house)

Birds (offscreen): (chirping)

Narrator: Mr. Messy lived in a particularly messy looking house.

(The camera starts panning up)

Narrator: Paint was peeling, windows were broken, there were tiles missing from the roof, the flowerbeds were overgrown,

(The camera starts zooming in towards Mr. Messy's house)

Narrator: With weeds, and the garden gate was off its hinges. And had Mr. Messy cut the grass in his garden lately?

(The camera stops zooming in once the camera is very close to one of the broken windows)

Narrator: He had not.

(The camera cuts to Mr. Messy's bedroom where Mr. Messy is shown asleep under the covers)

Narrator: One morning,

(Mr. Messy pops out from under the covers)

Narrator: Mr. Messy woke up in his messy bed.

(Mr. Messy yawns inaudibly)

Narrator: Yawned,

(Mr. Messy is shown scratching something as he sits in his bed)

Narrator: Scratched,

(Mr. Messy hops out of bed)

Narrator: Got up,

(Mr. Messy is shown in the bathroom brushing his teeth. His teeth are the only thing he keeps clean)

Narrator: Cleaned his teeth, leaving the top,

(Mr. Messy throws his toothbrush into a glass of water. The toothbrush splashes into the glass of water. Next to the glass is a tube of toothpaste with the cap off and tons of toothpaste squirted out on the bathroom cabinet)

Narrator: Off the toothpaste,

(The scene cuts to Mr. Messy sitting at the breakfast table and shaking cornflakes into the bowl and all over the kitchen floor)

Narrator: Had his breakfast, spilling cornflakes all over the floor.

(The scene cuts to Mr. Messy walking in his garden and walks into the frame and towards the right)

Narrator: And then set out for a walk.

(Mr. Messy trips over a rake and tumbles out of the frame)

Narrator: Tripping over a brush he left lying in the garden two weeks before.

(The scene cuts to the woods. The camera pans to the left)

Narrator: There was a wood behind Mr. Messy's messy house with a messy garden.

(The camera stops moving and Mr. Messy walks into the frame towards the right. Then the camera starts following him)

Narrator: And that's where he went on his walk. It was a particularly large wood,

(The camera zooms in on Mr. Messy as he continues walking)

Narrator: With lots and lots of trees and it took Mr. Messy a long time to walk through it.

(The camera zooms back out and the camera stops moving)

Narrator: But he didn't really mind,

(Mr. Messy walks out of the frame)

Narrator: Because he felt like walking that morning.

(The scene transitions to the edge of the woods and zooms in towards the exit)

Narrator: So he walked and walked right through the wood until he cane to the other side.

(The camera zooms in and out of the woods)

Narrator: And do you know what he found on the other side of the wood?

(The camera zooms in so much that only a white background is shown. The camera then flashes briefly before cutting to and zooming out from a nice, pristine house that's near a small stream)

Narrator: Mr. Messy found the neatest, prettiest looking little cottage,

Birds (offscreen and overlap): (chirping)

Narrator (overlap): That he had ever seen.

(The camera stops zooming out)

Birds (offscreen and overlap): (chirping)

Narrator (overlap): It had a lovely little garden with a stream running though the middle of it.

(The cameracuts over to a man in a black suit and black bowler hat clipping the hedges outside the cottage)

Narrator: There was a man in the garden, clipping the hedge. He looked up as Mr. Messy approached.

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Messy)

Mr. Messy: Morning!

(Mr. Messy jumps for a moment to get the man's attention)

Mr. Messy: I'm Mr. Messy.

(Mr. Messy jumps up and down)

Narrator: Said Mr. Messy.

(The camera cuts back over to Mr. Tidy, who stops trimming the bush)

Mr. Tidy: I can see that.

Narrator: Replied the man looking up and down.

Mr. Tidy: I'm Mr. Tidy.

(The camera cuts over to a man nearly identical to Mr. Tidy stepping out of the nice house. The man is Mr. Neat and he is wearing a white suit and a black bowler hat)

Mr. Neat: And I'm Mr. Neat.

Narrator: Said another man, appearing out of the house.

(The camera cuts back to Mr. Tidy, who is now standing in front of the hedge)

Mr. Tidy: Tidy and neat.

Narrator: Said Mr. Tidy.

(The camera pans over to Mr. Neat)

Mr. Neat: Neat and tidy.

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat.

(The camera zooms out to show Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat standing together in front of the hedge)

Mr. Tidy: We're uh, we're in business together.

Narrator: Explained Mr. Tidy.

Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat: And the people who own this house have asked us to do some work for them.

(The camera cuts back over to Mr. Messy)

Mr. Messy: What sort of work?

(The camera zooms in on Mr. Messy)

Narrator: Asked Mr. Messy.

(The camera cuts back to Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy)

Mr. Neat: Oh, we make things nice and neat.

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat.

Mr. Tidy: Tidy things up.

Narrator: Added Mr. Tidy.

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Neat)

Mr. Neat: Perhaps, uh, perhaps we could come along and do some work for you.

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat looking at Mr. Messy.

(The camera cuts over and zooms out from an upset Mr. Messy)

Narrator: Who was looking even messier than usual that particular morning.

(The camera stops zooming out.

Mr. Messy: But, uh, I don't want things neat and tidy.

Narrator: Said Mr. Messy, looking downright miserable at the thought of it.

(The camera cuts back to Mr. Tidy)

Mr. Tidy: Nonsense!

Narrator: Said Mr. Tidy.

(The camera cuts back to Mr. Neat)

Mr. Neat: Fiddlesticks!

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat

(The camera cuts back to Mr. Messy)

Mr. Messy: But uh,

(Mr. Messy frowns)

Narrator: Said Mr. Messy.

(Mr. Tidy is shown taking a hold of Mr. Messy's right hand and Mr. Neat is shown taking a hold of Mr. Messy's left hand)

Mr. Neat: Come along.

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat.

Mr. Tidy: Off we go.

(Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy start dragging Mr. Messy back and forth but Mr. Messy resists them)

Narrator: Said Mr. Tidy.

(The camera zooms back out to show Mr. Messy standing in the middle of Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy, who still have a tight grip on Mr. Messy's hands)

Mr. Messy: But, uh...but-but-but, uh-

(Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy continue dragging Mr. Messy along)

Narrator: Said Mr. Messy

(Mr. Neat is shown about to push Mr. Messy into the back of his and Mr. Tidy's van)

Mr. Neat: But nothing!

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat.

(Mr. Neat pushes Mr. Messy into the back of the van)

Narrator: And bundling him into their van, which was parked,

(The scene transitions to Mr. Tidy driving the van through the wood to the right side of the screen. The camera follows the van)

Narrator: Behind the house, off they went to Mr. Messy's house at the other side of the wood.

(The scene transitions to Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy looking at Mr. Messy's house. The camera cuts over to Mr. Neat)

Mr. Neat: Good heavens!

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat when saw where Mr. Messy lived.

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Tidy)

Mr. Tidy: Good gracious me!

Narrator: Replied Mr. Tidy.

(The camera zooms out to show Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy)

Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy: This is the messiest house I've ever seen in all my born days!

Narrator: They both said together at the same time.

Mr. Neat: Better do something about it.

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat.

(The camera cuts to show Mr. Messy's messy house in full view)

Narrator: And before Mr. Messy could open his mouth,

(Mr. Neat walks across the screen to the right carrying a rake over his shoulder)

Narrator: The two of them were rushing here and there,

(Mr. Tidy walks across the screen to the left carrying a rake over his shoulder)

Narrator: About Mr. Messy's messy house.

(The camera cuts over to the garden where Mr. Neat is shown using a shovel to dig an new flower bed with currently six yellow flowers planted in it)

Narrator: Mr. Neat hoed,

(The camera zooms in towards the shovel. Then the camera cuts to a push mower being pushed into the frame towards the left)

Narrator: And mowed,

(The camera cuts and zooms out to a pair of pruning shears pruning some branches)

Narrator: And pruned,

(The camera cuts over to a pair of garden shears snipping the heads off four yellow flowers)

Narrator: And snipped,

(The camera cuts back to Mr. Neat cleaning up on Mr. Messy's garden)

Narrator: And clipped,

(The camera cuts to the now neat garden and zooms out from the front gate to show the cleaned up flower beds and uncluttered garden path)

Narrator: And cleared, and dug. And made the garden look neater,

(The camera stops zooming out)

Narrator: Than it had ever looked before.

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Tidy (mistakenly wearing Mr. Neat's white jacket) wiping away all the messy fingerprints on the outside of Mr. Messy's house)

Narrator: Mr. Tidy cleaned,

(The camera cuts to Mr. Tidy priming the windows of Mr. Messy's house)

Narrator: And primed,

(Mr. Tidy is shown rubbing away all the messy fingerprints on a sink)

Narrator: And rubbed,

(Mr. Tidy is shown dipping a paintbrush into a pot of red paint)

Narrator: And painted,

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Messy's now tidied and fixed up house. The yard is also no longer engulfed in weeds)

Narrator: And mended. And made,

(Mr. Neat walks across the screen to the right carrying a rake over his shoulder)

Narrator: The house of Mr. Messy look tidier than it had ever looked before

(The camera zooms in towards Mr. Messy's now cleaned house)

Narrator: Then, they both went inside the house.

(The door opens up and the camera cuts to inside the house. Inside, Mr. Neat is looking at the fingerprint-covered interior)

Mr. Neat: Good heavens!

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat for the second time that morning.

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Tidy)

Mr. Tidy: Good gracious!

Narrator: Said Mr. Tidy for the second time that morning.

(The camera zooms out to show both men looking at the inside of the house. Mr. Neat is shown carrying a pot of red paint in his left hand and a paintbrush covered in paint in his right hand)

Narrator: And then they set about cleaning the house from top to bottom.

(The camera cuts to a broom sweeping the floor. The sound of sweeping is heard)

Narrator: They brushed, and swept,

(Mr. Tidy is shown polishing away all the messy fingerprints on a sink)

Narrator: And polished,

(Mr. Tidy is shown scrubbing away all the messy fingerprints off the floor. The sound of scrubbing is heard)

Narrator: And scrubbed,

(The camera cuts to a cleaned wall and door of the inside of Mr. Messy's house)

Narrator: And made the inside of the house,

(The camera zooms out to show the cleaned room in full view. The sound of the room shimmering clean is heard)

Narrator: look neater and tidier than it had ever looked,

(The camera stops zooming out)

Narrator: Before.

(The camera cuts to Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat putting their arms around their shoulders. As in Mr. Tidy's left arm and hand is on Mr. Neat's left shoulder and Mr. Neat's right arm and hand is on Mr. Tidy's right shoulder)

Mr. Tidy: There we are!

Narrator: Said Mr. Tidy.

Mr. Neat: All finished.

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat.

Mr. Tidy: Tidy and neat.

Narrator: Said Mr. Tidy.

Mr. Neat: Neat and tidy.

Narrator: Said Mr. Neat.

(The camera cuts over to an extremely miserable Mr. Messy)

Narrator: Mr. Messy just didn't know what to say.

(The camera cuts back to Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat)

Narrator: Then they both,

(Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy look to the left)

Narrator: Looked at Mr. Messy.

Mr. Neat: Are, uh, are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Narrator: Mr. Neat said to Mr. Tidy.

Mr. Tidy: Precisely.

(Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy look at the viewers)

Narrator: Said Mr. Tidy.

(The camera cuts back over to an extremely miserable Mr. Messy)

Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy (both offscreen): What, uh, what we're both thinking boy.

Narrator: They said together to Mr. Messy.

Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy (both offscreen): Is that, um,

(The camera zooms in towards Mr. Messy)

Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy (both offscreen): Now that the house is so neat and tidy, you are much too messy to live in it.

(The camera stops zooming in)

Mr. Messy: But-but-but-but-but-

Narrator: Said Mr. Messy.

(The camera cuts to a staircase leading up to the second floor)

Narrator: But whatever Mr. Messy said was no use.

(The camera zooms in and follows the staircase up to the second floor to a door)

Narrator: And Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy whisked him off to the bathroom upstairs.

(The camera fades to the door leading to the bathroom on the second floor)

Narrator: It had been the messiest room,

(The door opens to reveal the bathroom now neat and tidy with a bathtub in the middle of the room with a red bath mat with the word "bath" on it on the floor next to it

Narrator: In the house. But now, of course, it was as neat as a new pin.

(The camera cuts into the bathroom. On the right side in front of the window, Mr. Tidy is shown holding Mr. Messy up in the air by the latter's right arm. On the left side in front of the bathroom mirror, Mr. Neat is shown holding Mr. Messy up in the air by the latter's left arm

Narrator: Then Mr. Neat got hold of one of Mr. Messy's arms,

(The camera zooms in towards Mr. Messy)

Narrator: And Mr. Tidy got hold of the other arm, and they picked him up,

...

(Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy drop Mr. Messy into the bathtub full of water)

Narrator: And put him straight into the bath!

(Mr. Messy surfaces from the water in the bathtub. Both Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy look at Mr. Messy)

Narrator: Mr. Messy wasn't used to having baths.

(Mr. Tidy is shown scrubbing Mr. Messy's foot with a scrubbing brush)

Narrator: Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy washed,and brushed,

(Mr. Neat is shown washing Mr. Messy with a sponge)

Narrator: And cleaned, and scrubbed,

(Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat are shown combing Mr. Messy (who is now out of the bath) so his scribbles are straightened out)

Narrator: And combed Mr. Messy until he didn't look like Mr. Messy at all.

(Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat stop combing Mr. Messy and the scene transitions to show Mr. Messy cleaned and smoothed out. Mr. Messy is shown with a smile on his face)

Narrator: In fact,

(The camera zooms out slightly)

Narrator: He looked the opposite of messy!

(Mr. Messy takes out a mirror, holds the mirror in his left hand, and looks at himself in the mirror. The camera also stops zooming out)

Narrator: He looked at himself in the mirror.

(Mr. Messy puts the mirror away and looks at the viewers)

Mr. Messy: You...you know what I'm going to have to do now?

Narrator: He said in a rather fierce voice.

(The camera cuts over to a worried Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy)

Narrator: Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy looked worried.

Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy: What uh, what are you going to have to do?

Narrator: They asked Mr. Messy.

(The camera cuts back over to Mr. Messy)

Mr. Messy: I'm...I'm going to have to change my name.

Narrator: Said Mr. Messy.

(Mr. Messy starts jumping up and down and chuckling inaudibly)

Narrator: And (chuckles), and he chuckled.

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat, leaning to the left, and chuckling as well)

Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat (overlap): (chuckling)

Narrator (overlap and starting to chuckle): And Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy chuckled.

Mr. Tidy and Mr. Neat: (chuckling)

(The camera cuts back over to Mr. Messy jumping up and down)

Mr. Messy (overlap): (laughing)

Narrator (overlap while laughing): And Mr. Messy laughed! (laughs)

(The camera cuts over to Mr. Tidy, Mr. Messy, and Mr. Neat all laughing together. Mr. Messy has his right arm around Mr. Tidy's shoulder and his left arm around Mr. Neat's shoulder)

Mr. Neat, Mr. Tidy, and Mr. Messy (all overlap): (laughing hysterically)

Narrator (overlap while laughing): And Mr. Neat and Mr. Tidy laughed!

Narrator, Mr. Neat, Mr. Tidy, and Mr. Messy: (laughs)

Mr. Tidy, Mr. Messy, and Mr. Neat (all overlap): (laughing hysterically)

Narrator (overlap while laughing): And they all laughed together (laughs)

(The camera zooms in towards Mr. Tidy, Mr. Messy, and Mr. Neat)

Mr. Tidy, Mr. Messy, and Mr. Neat (all overlap): (laughing hysterically)

Narrator (overlap while laughing): And became the best of friends!

Narrator, Mr. Neat, Mr. Tidy, and Mr. Messy: (laughing hysterically)
