Mr. Mischief’s Holiday is a story from the 1981 Annual
Plot[]
Mr. Mischief was spending a holiday by the seaside. The sun was shining bright, the sea was pleasantly warm, and a stone throw away from the seaside hotel Mr. Mischief was staying in. Mr. Mischief found that last part out on the first day of his holiday. He threw a plum stone out of the hotel window and it landed on an unknown gentlemen who was sitting on the beach. OUCH!
Even when he's on holiday, Mr. Mischief can't help but cause mischief. On the second day of his holiday, Mr. Mischief saw Mr. Lazy walk walking along the promenade towards a comfy deck-chair. Mr. Mischief smiled that mischievous smile of his and sawed through one of the deck-chair's legs before Mr. Lazy reached it. Poor Mr. Lazy tumbled out of the chair and on to the promenade the moment he sat down! It's a good thing Mr. Lazy can sleep anywhere at anytime.
On the third day of his holiday, Mr. Mischief did something he wished he hadn't. He saw a wizard sunbathing behind some rocks with a bottle of suntan oil beside him. Mr. Mischief, unable to resist pranking the wizard & not learning his lesson about messing with wizards, emptied all the suntan oil out of the bottle and filled it up with strawberry jam! The wizard was a sticky mess when he tried rubbing it all over himself. The wizard decided to teach Mr. Mischief another lesson and cast two spells with his magic wand.
The first spell send a crab to Mr. Mischief and had the crab nip Mr. Mischief's toes! If that wasn't enough pain to teach Mr. Mischief a lesson, the second spell turned a little boy's sandcastle to stone. Leading to Mr. Mischief injuring his toes on the other foot when he tried to kick it down! Mr. Mischief got the message and stopped pranking for the rest of the holiday. But remember, if you decide to spend your next holiday at the seaside, keep your eyes open for Mr. Mischief. He will learn a lesson but not obey it for very long!
