Mr. Mischief the Artist is the book adaptation of Mr. Mischief Becomes an Artist

Plot[]

It mostly follows the same plot. It was published in France in 1998 then released globally in 2014.

Differences between the Book Version & TV Version[]

  • The book features Mr. Brush starting the paint job a day after Little Miss Scatterbrain left for her holiday. In the episode, he starts it as soon as she left.
  • In the book, Mr. Mischief joins Mr. Brush as his assistant as he starts the paint job. In the episode, he was hired before the events of the episode took place.
  • Mr. Brush doesn't say "don't you, Mr. Mischief" in the book.
  • The episode featured Mr. Brush stating certain colors in each room for the paint job. The book, showed Mr. Brush wanting all the rooms to be white.
  • Little Miss Neat speaks in the book adaptation. In the episode, she is silent
  • Little Miss Scatterbrain tells everyone that her garden is being painted while on holiday in the book. In the episode, she correctly states that it's her house being painted.
  • The scene where Mr. Funny and Little Miss Scatterbrain dance and talk right before Miss Scatterbrain returns home is not shown in the Book Version.
  • The book version does not feature Little Miss Naughty, Little Miss Sunshine, Little Miss Tiny, Little Miss Lucky, Mr. Silly, or Mr. Tall
  • Little Miss Scatterbrain returns home while Mr. Mischief is painting in the book. Little Miss Scatterbrain returns after Mr. Brush sees what Mr. Mischief has done in the episode. Likewise. Mr. Brush isn't shown reacting to Mr. Mischief's work in the book.
  • Little Miss Scatterbrains calls the taxi driver an airplane pilot in the book.
  • Mr. Mischief's painting is more messy in the episode.
  • The book ends with Little Miss Scatterbrain telling Mr. Mischief that he intends to recommend his work to Little Miss Neat. Leaving Mr. Mischief to come up with a new idea. The episode ends with Little Miss Scatterbrain praising Mr. Mischief's work.
