Overview[]
Mr. Muddle's Easter Eggs (Les œufs de Pâques de monsieur Méli-mélo in French) is a story in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in April 1999 as part to mark the celebration of Easter, and re-released in 2000.
Plot[]
This morning, Mr. Strong leaves his house as usual to buy eggs. Chicken eggs, of course. But wait! This is not Mr. Strong's story. It's Mr. Muddle's story! And not only that, but because of Mr. Muddle, everything gets mixed up! Yes, poor Mr. Muddle! He can't help it and ends up mixing everything up! This morning, after Mr. Muddle enters the bakery, Mr. Cake, the pastry chef, asks Mr. Muddle to deliver Easter eggs to Mr. Strong's house. But for some reason, Mr. Muddle nods and answers, "No, Of course." Mr. Cake asks anxiously, "Did I understand that?" Hearing this, Mr. Muddle shakes his head and answers, "Yes, Of course!" And then, with a loaf of bread under his arm, Mr. Muddle closes the door of the bakery and leaves through the window. Mr. Cake thinks right and knows Mr. Muddle well, he forgot something. He catches up twice as fast and says, "I wish you hadn't brought the bread..." Even though Mr. Muddle apologises for that, but what did he do after that? Just as the pastry chef wanted. With that, Mr. Muddle returned the bread, took the basket of eggs he was carrying, and left. To get to Mr. Strong's house, Mr. Muddle, of course, got the right street and the left street, the red street and the light green, the number 31 and the number 13, mixed up. The next day, he finally arrived at Mr. Strong's house. Mr. Muddle puts Easter eggs in the garden. He drops some randomly, putting them all over the place. Mr. Strong's neighbor's little girl saw what Mr. Muddle was doing and cried out: "Look! The Easter bells are ringing and they're not ringing anymore! But you're not the Easter bells!" Mr. Muddle replied: "Of course! I'm Santa Claus!" The girl was a little worried. Mr. Strong returned, so the girl asked him: "Do you know that strange man who celebrates Christmas on Easter?" Mr. Strong replied, and said that it was Mr. Muddle. The girl understood everything, so she left. So Mr. Strong said to Mr. Muddle, "Are you the one who left these beautiful Easter eggs in my garden? That's very kind of you. Would you like a delicious omelette to celebrate?" Mr. Muddle accepted the suggestion, but first Mr. Strong had to sit down and Mr. Muddle had to put everything away. Soon Mr. Muddle came out of the kitchen with a big steaming frying pan. But... it smelled strange! Do you know what Mr. Muddle has made? A chocolate egg omelette! Oh, Mr. Muddle!
