Mr. Muddle Goes Shopping is a story from the 1983 Annual.
Plot[]
When Mr. Muddle goes shopping, he gets everything completely, totally, utterly, muddled! When he went to the bakery, he asked the baker for some bacon. At the sweet shop, Mr. Topsy-Turvy offered Mr. Muddle some toffees. Mr. Topsy-Turvy said, "Toffee have a do!" What a muddled sentence!
At the butcher's Mr. Muddle asked for two pink socks when he meant to say "two pork chops!" At the shoe shops, Mr. Muddled tried on a pair of shoes...on his hands! At the fishnomger's, Mr. Muddle was able to buy half a shrimp for tea, but he called Mr. Skinny, "Mr. Greedy! Oh dear! Finally, he went to get a stamp from the post office and said, "I'll post this letter yesterday." when he really meant to say, "I'll post this letter tomorrow." Then, it was time for Mr. Muddle to go home. He went one way, and his legs walked the other way. What a muddly day!
