Mr. Silly's Seaside Game is a game page from the 1984 Annual.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Silly and Mr. Nonsense are having fun at the seaside. They are trying to catch some crabs. Join them in the fun and play this game with a friend. You will find the board on the next two pages. Trace these pictures of Mr. Silly and Mr. Nonsense (once) and the crab (five times) on some thin card and cut out
How to Play[]
First, decide which of you will be the crabs and which of you will be the Mr. Men. Then, toss a coin to decide who will move first.
The board is divided into squares over sea, sand, and rocks. Place five crams anywhere along the first row of sea squares. Now choose squares for Mr. Silly and Mr. Nonsense along the row of rocks.
The Moves[]
Crabs must move either forwards or sideways, one square at a time. Only one crab may be moved in any one turn. The Mr. Men must move either backwards, forwards, or sideways one square at a time. Only one Mr. Man may be moved in any one turn. Mr. Men must not move into the sea and may catch crabs only on the sand. Crabs are caught when either Mr. Silly or Mr. Nonsense land on a square occupied by a crab. The aim is to see how many crabs the Mr. Men catch before the crabs reach the safety of the rocks and HOME.
