Mr. Strong and the Windy Day is a story from the 1980 Annual.
Plot[]
Mr. Strong gets his strength from the countless number of eggs that he eats. One windy day, Mr. Strong woke up, jumped out of bed, and fell through the floorboards! He wasn't called "Mr. Strong" for nothing. He ate his breakfast of eggs and went out for a walk. The wind was blowing hard but the only thing Mr. Strong had to worry about regarding the wind was keeping his hat from blowing. Well, that and the bus he accidentally walked into. The bus driver was annoyed with the dent Mr. Strong accidentally put in the back of the bus but Mr. Strong didn't understand why the bus was parked in the middle of the road in the first place. Turns out, the bus wasn't parked but blocked by a tree that was uprooted and blown down across the road. Mr. Strong, being the generous fellow he is, picked up the tree and took it off the road and laid it on the grass next to it. The bus driver and the passengers were thankful for Mr. Strong's help and both the bus and Mr. Strong went on their way again.
Later, Mr. Strong met the farmer's wife hurrying down the road. Mr. Strong asked what was the matter and the farmer's wife told him that the roof of the hen house has blown off. Now the hens not only didn't have shelter from the elements, but the wind was blowing them all over the farmyard. For Mr. Strong, this was an easy fix. He easily picked up the roof, put it back on top of the hen house, and nailed the roof into place with just a few fingers. The farmer's wife was extremely grateful for Mr. Strong's help and gave him the biggest basket of eggs that she could find! A delicious supper for Mr. Strong to enjoy!
