The Mr. Men Musical or by the album name: Party Time With Mr. Men was a live stage musical (pantomime) in 1985 and had a story line based on the books and characters of Roger Hargreaves but with its very own credited writers and directors.

The vinyl and cassette covers specifically states "As Seen On T.V." which implies the Musical has been recorded and broadcasted but no such footage or further proof is to be found. The statement could also simply refer to the Mr. Men as characters themselves; known from TV.

Plot

The Mr. Men and Little Misses are in need to hold the biggest party of the century, as part of Doctor Trotter's traveling zoo being in need of a new grand gig, and Farmer Field's, who is in need of help with his muck spreading, but are faced with difficulties as Mr. Grumpy, due to his bad mood, Little Miss Shy, who is too shy and Little Miss Splendid, who is too splendid, are not likely to attend the party.
Notes

  • Mr. Happy falls into a depression of some sort, likely due to Mr. Grumpy and his presence in his songs. Then things got a little bit better when Mr. Happy is also overjoyed to give Mr. Grumpy a fright, but would be too happy as a ghost, so they cast Mr. Bump as the jumpscare, so that he can be the thing that goes "Bump in the Night". The cast tries to fright Mr. Grumpy as some sort of payback, but Mr. Nosey falls for it instead.
  • Mr. Wrong, Mr. Greedy, Little Miss Plump and Little Miss Sunshine play a role, as they are depicted in the cast, but their role is not clear from the music on the album.
    • Mr. Greedy is heard in 'Mr. Men Hoedown' where he says "and lots to eat"
    • Mr. Wrong is displayed in suit in the footage photos
    • Little Miss Plump nor Sunshine are depicted in footage, referred to or heard on the album.
