Were We Babies Before? (Est-ce qu'on était des bébés, avant? in French) is a short story about questions and to understand why in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.

It was released in May 1999, and then re-released in 2000.

Summary[]

Little Miss Giggles answers the titular question, saying: "Yes! Hehehe! When you were born you were very small. You didn't know where you were and you looked here and there with your big eyes. Hehehe! You didn't know how to talk either, so you cried when you asked for something. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! How noisy! You couldn't even walk, so your parents carried you or took you around in a stroller. You didn't even know how to sit! Hehehe! Your parents fed you with a bottle. They put you in nappies. And when you were happy... ARRREU! ARRREU! You were a baby once too! Just like everyone else!"
