Overview[]
What is the Nose For? (À quoi sert le nez ? in French) is a short story about keeping clean, healthy and well in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in April 1999, and then re-released in 2000.
Summary[]
There is a reason to why we have noses, so does Mr. Nosey; he answers the question seen in the title, saying: "They say I have a very big nose... But noses are good for you! And not just for putting glasses on! As you know, you have two holes in your nose. They're called nostrils. Through your nostrils, you breathe in the air you need to breathe. Your nose warms this air and traps dust so it doesn't enter your body. This air also carries odors. When there are strong smells, the olfactory nerves inside your nose notice them. So... SNIFF! SNIFF! You sniff. And you think to yourself: "HUM! That smells good!" Or, on the contrary, "YUCK! That smells bad!"" all whilst empathizing with the reader.
