Why Are There Girls and Boys? (Pourquoi est-ce qu'il y a des filles et des garçons ? in French) is a short story curiosity in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.

It was released in 1997, and then re-released in 2000.

Summary[]

Mr. Crosspatch answers the titular question by saying that: So that there's always babies that are born on earth, and for that, there has to be a mother and a father, so girls will become moms and boys will become dads, and it's the same in the animal kingdom. All whilst sympathizing with the reader.
