Why Are There Wars? (Pourquoi y a-t-il des guerres ? in French) is a short story about discovering the world, curiosity and telling them what they are in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.

It was released in March 1999, and then re-released in 2000.

Summary[]

Because how dangerous wars can be, Little Miss Curious answers this, saying: "Yes! Why? I wonder that too! Ever since humans have been on earth, they've been at war. Lots of people die because of it, or lose their families and everything they have. Despite everything, humans continue! A long, long time ago, tribes waged war to take from others what they didn't have: good land with water, food supplies... Today, that's no longer necessary. So why do humans continue? Some great men really like to be in charge. They would do anything to be the leaders. They also like money. And selling weapons brings in a lot of money." while in sympathy with the reader's question.
