Why Aren't We Allowed to Hit Other People? (Pourquoi est-ce qu'on n'a pas le droit de taper les autres ? in French) is a short story about learning manners in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.

It was released in 1997, and then later re-released in 2000.

Summary[]

Mr. Crosspatch answers the titular question by saying that: Because it hurts people, and there are other ways of telling people that you disagree other than hitting them, but if you want to hit someone, it's much more fun to play fight. Whilst sympathizing with the reader.
