Summary[]
Mr. Clever answers the titular question, saying: "Let's take an example you know well: cakes. In a supermarket, there are lots of different cakes. They were made in different factories, for different brands. All brands want to sell as many cakes as possible, to make as much money as possible. They advertise on television, on walls, or in newspapers, so that you see the image of their cake packages as often as possible. That way, you'll immediately recognize the package at the supermarket. And you'll pester your parents to buy it for you!" while sympathizing with the reader.
