Overview[]
Why Do We Go Back to Class After the Holidays? (Pourquoi retourne-t-on en classe après les vacances ? in French) is a short story about questions and to understand why in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in April 1999, and then re-released in 2000.
Summary[]
We always go back to school after the holidays, so that means Mr. Grumpy answers this question, saying "OH! LA, LA, LA, LA, LA, LA, Back to class! GRRRR! After all the holidays, it's the same: we go back to school! Well! Not quite the same! After the short breaks for All Saints' Day, Christmas, winter, spring, and Ascension Day, you go back to the same class. The one you went to on the first day of school. After the long summer break, it's a new school year. You go to a new class. With a new teacher. And new classmates too. You've grown up! So, you're going to learn new things!" all while sympathizing with the reader.
