Overview[]
Why Do We Have Tears When We Cry? (Pourquoi a-t-on des larmes quand on pleure ? in French) is a short story about keeping clean, healthy and well in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in May 1999, and then re-released in 2000.
Summary[]
Mr. Silly answers the titular question, saying "I'm going to tell you something very surprising: we always have tears! Yeah! Yeah! There's always a little water that comes out of the eye to keep it wet. Really, just a little! The eyelids spread it, but it doesn't run. When we have great sorrow or great joy, or when dust stings the eye, or when there's too much light, the eyes start to produce more tears. So they run down the cheeks. Some pass through the nose, and we sniff. And we ask for a tissue!" while sympathizing with the reader.
