Overview[]
Why Do You Have to Say "Thank You" When You Receive a Gift? (Pourquoi faut-il dire « merci » quand on reçoit un cadeau ? in French) is a short story about learning manners and how to live together in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in May 1999, and then re-released in 2000.
Summary[]
Little Miss Sunshine answers the titular question, saying "What happiness! A gift! Now that's truly, truly happiness! Because when someone gives you a gift, it's to tell you that they love you! That's the main thing! So, even if you don't really like the gift, say, "Thank you!" And add, "It's very nice!" And give her a big kiss. Otherwise, she'll be sad. You wouldn't want to hurt someone who loves you, after all!" while sympathizing with the reader.
