Why Shouldn't We Rub Our Eyes? (Pourquoi ne faut-il pas se frotter les yeux ? in French) is a short story about keeping clean, healthy and well in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.

It was released in May 1999, and then re-released in 2000.

Summary[]

Little Miss Splendid answers the titular question, saying "When tears are flowing, or there's dust in our eyes, we really want to rub. But we shouldn't! It makes our eyes all red! Which, between you and me, isn't very pretty. And above all, it stings even more. Our eyes are very sensitive. The slightest bit of dirt bothers them. Even the tiniest invisible bits of dirt on your fingers! To wipe away dust, close your eye and turn it inside out. To wipe away your tears, gently dab them with a tissue. There! That's it!"
