Overview[]
Why Shouldn't You Run Up the Stairs? (Pourquoi ne faut-il pas courir dans l'escalier ? in French) is a short story about learning manners and how to live together in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in March 1999, and then re-released in 2000.
Summary[]
Mr. Busy answers the titular question, saying "Do you think running will make you faster? For example, will you be faster in the yard, or in the kitchen, or at the front door? Not so sure! When you go down the stairs, you have to place your feet exactly on the steps. The faster you go, the harder it is. And if you miss a step... Do you know what I mean? Falling down the stairs can be very dangerous. You're pulled by your own weight: you go down, down, down... Much too quickly, I assure you! And often, headfirst. When you get to the bottom, it's a big shock. Go more slowly! Your name isn't Mr. Rush!" while empathizing with the reader.
