Overview[]
Why Shouldn't You Touch the Washing Machine Buttons? (Pourquoi ne faut-il pas toucher aux boutons de la machine à laver ? in French) is a short story about learning manners and how to live together in the I Grow Up with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series.
It was released in April 1999, and then re-released in 2000.
Summary[]
Little Miss Helpful answers the question posed in the title, saying "No! You shouldn't touch those buttons! Especially when the machine is running! Otherwise, it's a disaster! Your parents sort the laundry before washing it. They put the towels together, which are washed in very hot water. Another time, the colored clothes, which are washed in cooler water. And then, they choose the washing machine's program. They tell it whether to wash for a long time or a short time, quickly or slowly, in hot or cold water. How? With the buttons, of course! So, if you change the position of the buttons... The colors mix! Or the clothes shrink! Or they come out all dirty! In short: it's not right at all!" while empathizing with the reader.
